So my name is Taryn.
Friends call me Haze and others call me Afro Buddha (parody of Afro Samurai). I'm 21 years old, I'm not really a typical girly girl I should say where I don't really wear Make-up, I am VERY into Natural Beauty and I don't mean "apply concealer and blush and eyeliner with eyeshadow that happens to go with my skin tone". I mean pretty much bare face. I do wear eyeliner from time to time but I mainly put it on my Waterlines on my eyes just to give my eyes and eye color more of a "pop" on their own. I like Lip Gloss. No problem with that lol.
Onto the Title "Afro Hair, Asian Lifestyle". Afro hair is obviously a given. I'm Black (just easier for me to say Black instead of breaking down into ethnicity backgrounds and what not), I've been natural pretty much my whole life. There have been a few sparely times where I have had a Relaxer in my hair but it never took, only to my ends because they were damaged anyway. It was good if I wanted to have my hair straighten for longer than 2 days. 2 weeks later my hair would be poofy again. My mother didn't know what to do with it even though she's Black, there's more Native American blood on her side verse my father side. So it was always just poofy and usually a mess lol.
As for Asian Lifestyle my family is Buddhist. I was born into the religion, I didn't convert. I could never relate to my fellow cousins or peers at school growing up because I grew up much differently than they did, even though my family is Black the customs and the people I were use to were Japanese, Korean and White. Growing up around Multi-Diversity I never saw the "color-line" that people talked so much about until I was around 14 - 15 years old, so basically High School.
So anyway, that's an introduction as far as myself. Now onward to what this blog is going to be about!
